Stop #20: The Redwood Grove on The Emerald City region.

So it's been an uncharacteristically long time between posts, and there is a reason for that, and so I thought I'd catch everyone up and feature yet another point of interest to BBB Stampers.  The reason for the delay is because I've been working on updating and expanding The Redwood Grove.

Based on my love and appreciation for the American Pacific Northwest region in The United States, The Redwood Grove naturally (every pun intended) features redwood trees.  Every activity, of which there are several, is placed amid towering sequoias and evergreen trees, rushing rivers and streams, waterfalls and rugged mountain landscapes.

Earlier visitors and stampers who have come to The Grove to collect their stamps should really take a moment to rediscover The Redwood Grove.  Unfortunately, due to antiquated scripting and the creator no longer being in Second Life to collaborate with, the log flume no longer exists.  We have, however, incorporated a large and immersive narrow-gauge train system, which will give you the same leisurely experience as the log flume offered.

The train system is laid out to give the feel of integration into the forest and mountain environment, with the tracks spanning bridges connected to the edges of cliff faces, winding around tree trunks and perilously close to cascading waterfalls, all to combine a leisurely tour with a thrilling railroad experience.

For those BBBug-gers out there collecting stamps, likewise with the previous log flume experience, you can search the stamp dispenser for The Redwood Grove out yourself, or follow the directions at The Redwood Grove Depot landing point which say to hop on a train and it will take you to the dispenser.  Watch for the mysterious owl to your right a little ways into the train trip.

The goal of a visit to The Redwood Grove is to always leave you wanting more, and hopefully every time you pay a visit you'll find something new.  We have a nice long water slide perched at the top of a tall redwood, which winds through the tree trunks before depositing you at ground level, landing in the area of the bump boats.  The bumper boat area features an included game, similar to soccer or polo.

Yet another of the many amenities available is the opportunity to bungee jump from the top of another towering redwood.  Look for the sign at the base of the tree nearest the outdoor stage, close to the bridge over the stream.  Click that sign, hop on the ball and up you go!  Then just sit on the bungee belt, and prepare yourself for a thrilling fall.

Our blues club, Club CTO, has moved to another new area of The Grove, and in it's place we've dropped the Emerald City Bowl-O-Rama, featuring still the best inworld bowling experience, with three Bergson Bowling lanes.

The Redwood Grove also has partnerships with The Campbell Coast, so if you are touring for multiple stamps, there are experience teleports that run both ways from The Campbell Coast and The Grove.  There is also a teleport experience to another BBB point of interest, The Toothsome Wench, a tudor style tavern, which will be featured in a future blog post.

If pictures don't give you an effective enough picture of what The Redwood Grove has to offer, I have also created an updated youtube video of The Redwood Grove and what it has to offer.
