Stop #21: BBB at the Second Life 18th Birthday Celebration (LIMITED EDITION!)

 

Many things to celebrate this year of 2021 (most of which has to do with the fact that it's no longer 2020!!!) but today is the first day of The Second Life 18th Birthday Celebration (That's right, gang, Second Life is now an adult!!)

The Bellisserian Bureau Of Bureaucracy has brought the passport stamp experience to this celebration with the limited edition SL18B Celebration Stamp.

So raise a glass (you actually can when you get to the inner patio) to Second Life for remaining active for nearly two decades!!  Sun Darkflower and the rest of the Bureaucrats at the BBB has created a relaxing natural environment for you to visit as you're checking out all the exhibits.  Take the woodland path through the tree tunnel and enter into the central patio, where the real interaction begins!

They've created a perfect spot for those of you visiting the SL18 celebration to .... take a break.  Finely manicured and laid out, with relaxing patio furniture and, as I mentioned earlier, some deliverable wine glasses.  You can also introduce yourself to the powers that be behind the BBB!!!

Bureaucracy is Bureaucracy and SL18B is no different.  The BBB has a recreation of their offices with information about the BBB itself, a slideshow of the current listing of BBB Stamp dispenser locations.

And, yep, you gotta take a number.  Looks like I struck out again, and will have to play the waiting game.  (That's a joke.  Most BBB processing only takes an average of three days!)

Something I never noticed before, is that some locations have BBB Passport Stamp Location Commemorative Postcards.  (There is a rack of mole-built Bellisseria location postcards in the BBB exhibit, in the office!)  Right now I think it's just a display, but there are goals to make the post cards actual deliverable devices.  So stop into your nearest BBB location and inquire!

There has also been a limited edition BBB stamp created JUST FOR SL18B, so while the event itself goes until July1st, 2021, that is ONLY TWO WEEKS, so .... don't put it off, or before you know it, your access to the limited edition stamp will go the way of the four winds.  DON'T WAIT!!!

But WAIT!

What do Sun and Fenella have in their hands?!? YES!  If you've been to linden sponsored events, you've seen certain Lindens with Random Stamp Issuing Devices (RSIDs) that give you a random chance at numerous stamps for an individual, the BBB staff have similar Single Stamp Issuing Devices (SSIDs) that you can click while wearing your passport to get personalized BBB Stamps for each of the 10 staff members!

I managed to collect half of them on the first day!!!  (Note:  Since the staff is holding these during the limited time of SL18B, it's a good guess that these SSID stamps are also temporary.  So Git 'Em!)
