Stop #27. Off the Beaten Path at Winter's Home

No Passport Stamp for this post, but still exploring after a long hiatus, and it was time to get back at it.  This time we travel through a different medium, an Second Life group called The Nature Collective, and a beautiful annual build by juliatrouble resident (or Julia Dagger, as she is currently named) called Winter's HomeThere is a flickr group associated with Winter's Home as well, for all of you who love Second Life Photography.

Here at Winter's Home, you always know where you are, with these convenient signs (look for the red dot to tell you where you are, and the other dots to show you places to keep an eye out for here at this picturesque winter landscape.  If you are a shutterbug, as I fancy myself to be, be sure to dig out your longjohns for some authenticity, because you're placed in the middle of a pretty steady snowfall.  You can almost hear the snow dampening your steps as you progress.

Fortunately, they provide a number of spots to allow you to warm up such as this really wonderfully done outdoor lounge set made from wooden longs, complete with a firepit.  You even have a slight respite from the falling snow, perhaps from the large canopy of trees protecting you as you lounge by a crackling fire.

There are two indoor spots to fight off the chill as well.  This one room intimate building has a table set for two for those special close encounters you might want to have one on one with someone.  You still get that feeling of winter stillness, though, as the numerous windows allow for a splendid view of the snow gently but consistently falling just outside the door.

The larger house has room for larger parties, as well as a huge spread if you feel the need to role play as hungry!  I grabbed a soda from one of the nearby six packs, and sipped it through a straw as I took a break from the snow.  If you hold it long enough, there's a delightfully annoying slurping sound as you drain the dregs.

If you decide to brave the elements once more, there is a rather sizeable ice pond just outside the door of the larger house, where you can grab a pair of ice skates and slip and slide to your hearts content.
